How Can Insurance Help Me Prepare for an Earthquake Disaster?

Earthquake risk is REAL.

Most Californians live within 30 miles of an active fault. Moderate earthquakes can still cause extensive damage, even if your home is farther from a fault.

If you don't have a SEPARATE earthquake policy, then you don't have earthquake coverage and you must pay to repair or rebuild your home or replace your belongings– and to eat & live elsewhere until repairs are completed.

In other words, you will pay 100 percent of your recovery costs yourself.

To recover after an earthquake, you’ll want to repair or replace what matters most– take control of your recovery with CEA earthquake insurance offered by Farmers Insurance. CEA (California Earthquake Authority), a publicly managed organization, offers a wider range of coverages, along with expanded coverage limits for Loss of Use and Personal Property for HOMEOWNERS, RENTERS, AND MOBILE HOME (MANUFACTURED HOME) OWNERS. Here at Farmers, we can assist in providing knowledge about expanded coverage choices and deductible options that can benefit the policyholder in the event of a major earthquake.
