In Loving Memory of Ronald Barnett

Ronald Barnett, a beloved resident of Grand Terrace, California, passed away peacefully on June 08, 2024, one day after his 90th birthday. His life story is one of resilience, love, deep family bonds and his friends adored him.

Born in South Bend, Indiana on June 7, 1934, Ronald journeyed westward with his parents and two brothers in 1947, settling in California. Their early days were marked by humble beginnings, living in a 26-foot trailer they had towed all the way from Indiana, before finally establishing their home in Highgrove.

Ronald, known to his friends as "Ron" was a dedicated student, attending Highgrove Elementary School, University Heights Junior High School, Poly High School, and Riverside City College, where he graduated with pride.

In service to his country, Ron enlisted in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Germany. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life.

In 1959, Ron, Mary Keefer. Together, they built a life in Grand Terrace, where they lovingly raised their three children, Dolly, Dianne, and Randy. Ronald was a pillar of strength and support for his family, navigating life's challenges with unwavering dedication.

After 47 years of marriage, Ron experienced profound loss with the passing of Mary in 2006. However, life blessed him with a second chance at love when he married Geri Higgins in 2008. For 15 years, they shared a joyful companionship until Geri's passing in 2023.

Ron leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his children Dolly Mason of Arkansas, Dianne Johnson of Grand Terrace, Randy Barnett of Menifee, California and his brother Richard (Barney) Barnett of Highgrove, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.

A celebration of Ronald Barnett's life will be held on July 7, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Norton Younglove Community Center in Highgrove. Friends, family, and all whose lives Ronald touched are invited to attend and honor his memory.

Ronald Barnett will be remembered for his kind heart, his steadfast commitment to family, and his enduring legacy of love. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply cherished and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
