Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB), a leading Inland Empire hunger relief organization, is actively seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join their esteemed Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will meet with prospective candidates through June and early July 2023.

The organization is searching for true trailblazers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to their cause. The organization acknowledges residents' numerous systemic barriers, including racism, sexism, and cissexism, which adversely affect critical aspects of their lives, such as education, employment, housing, and healthcare. Candidates who demonstrate a deep understanding of these challenges and a drive to address them head-on are highly sought after.

"FARSB adopted an equity lens to guide our mission in 2021 as part of our strategic plan, and our board is just as dedicated to seeing that its composition accurately represents the community being served," said Carolyn Solar, CEO at FARSB. "This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a stronger board with skills, knowledge, and experience to guide our work," said Solar.

Candidates should possess expertise in various fields, including human resources, marketing, public relations, grocery/consumer goods, community outreach, advocacy and public policy, law, media/entertainment, or supply chain management. These skills will help advance initiatives and make a lasting impact on the community.

FARSB encourages individuals from equity constituencies to apply to ensure diverse representation and inclusive decision-making. This includes tribal communities, communities of color, immigrant and refugee communities, transgender and gender nonconforming communities, single women, single mothers, and caregivers. These individuals' unique perspectives and firsthand knowledge will significantly contribute to the organization's mission.

The board is committed to building an inclusive community that supports and connects underrepresented groups. Together, the organization aims to establish a robust safety net that eliminates hunger and ensures equitable access to nutritious food for all community members.

The Board of Directors assumes responsibility for overseeing the finances, management, and performance of FARSB and serves in a voluntary, non-executive capacity. Interested individuals are invited to review the "Board of Directors Job Description" or complete the Board of Directors Interest Form available at www.feedingamericaie.org/board.

Join FARSB in the fight against hunger and help create a stronger, more resilient Inland Empire. Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a community where no one goes hungry.

For more information on the organization, please visit FARSB’s website at www.FeedingIE.org.

About Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) is leading the fight against hunger in the Inland Empire by providing food access, emergency relief, education, and advocacy to families in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. FARSB opened in 1980 as Survive Food Bank in response to the increasing concern about the dual problems of hunger and food waste in the Inland Empire. With the help of these community partners, they make up the largest hunger-relief organization serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, ultimately making food security a reality for over 1.2 million people every year.
