It's that time of year again, and the city of Grand Terrace is gearing up for its 9th Annual Light Up Grand Terrace Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Event. The event, which has been a cherished tradition for years, promises an evening of festive fun and community engagement.

The event is scheduled to take place on November 30th, running from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The official Christmas tree lighting ceremony is set to commence at 6:00 PM, an enchanting moment that always captivates the crowd. Visitors can expect an array of attractions, including food vendors, community booths, stage performances by various local groups, and the guest of honor himself, Santa Claus.

The City of Grand Terrace emphasizes the event's community-oriented nature, saying, "We're looking forward to having a real community involvement and real engagement, and if this has been going on for years, it's a great event, and we're looking forward to doing it one more year." Light Up Grand Terrace is a long-standing tradition in Grand Terrace in which the entire community comes together to commune and spread the holiday spirit. Last year, over 1,200 people attended the event and this year, the City expects to have over 1,500 community members attend the tree lighting ceremony

While the details of vendor participation aren’t mentioned, Grand Terrace community members and local businesses are encouraged to reach out to the event organizers to explore opportunities for involvement.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
