Stephanie Houston has been selected as the new assistant superintendent of Innovation and Engagement for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, County Superintendent Ted Alejandre announced.

"Stephanie comes to us with more than 24 years of experience serving the students of our county and she has an extensive career with the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupation Program (CRY-ROP)," Alejandre said.

Houston, who earned her doctorate degree from Brandman University, has served as the superintendent of CRY-ROP for the past 12 years. She also has been a teacher, program manager and director for CRY-ROP during her career.

She will begin her new role as assistant superintendent of Innovation and Engagement on July 1 and replaces Lynne Kennedy, who retired from County Schools in February. Sue Gott, a former administrator with County Schools who retired in 2018, is serving in an interim position for County Schools until Houston begins her new position in July.

"We look forward to having Stephanie on the leadership team for our organization and are confident she will do an outstanding job for our staff, our client school districts and community partners," Alejandre said.
