To thank and honor the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces, Omnitrans again is offering free bus rides to US military veterans all day on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11.

Veterans just need to show a veteran-status ID when boarding any Omnitrans bus to get a free ride.

“We’re pleased to honor our veterans with free rides on Veterans Day,” said Omnitrans CEO/General Manager Erin Rogers. “We thank all veterans for their selfless service to our country, including 33 of our own employees who have served in various branches of the military.”

Omnitrans offers year-round discounts for veterans. A single ride is $0.90 for veterans, compared to $2.00 regular fare. Discounted veteran 1-day, 7-day and 31-day bus passes are also available. Accepted veteran IDs include a County of San Bernardino Military Veterans ID card, US Department of Veteran Affairs ID card, DMV/Driver license with veteran designation, Department of Defense Retired ID card or a transit agency veterans ID card.

All Omnitrans bus routes will be running regular weekday schedules on November 11. The veteran free ride offer applies to Omnitrans freeway express, local bus routes and the sbX rapid transit line; it is not applicable to OmniAccess service for persons with disabilities or OmniRide microtransit.

Omnitrans riders can plan their trip, track their bus and pay their fare from their phone, via the Transit app. The Transit app is available for free download on the App Store and Google Play.
