Phase One of Moreno Valley's Pavement Rehabilitation Program has officially begun across the City.

The first phase of the $50 million program will condense five years of work into just a few months and will repave major, arterial, and neighborhood roads throughout Moreno Valley.

"I am excited to announce that our Pavement Rehabilitation Program is officially underway," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "I want to thank the community for their continued patience, as there will be a lot of road work happening throughout the City simultaneously. So please, pardon our dust as we roll up our sleeves and get to work beautifying Moreno Valley's roads."

The Moreno Valley City Council approved $29 million in contracts for Phase One in June 2022. Construction contracts for the project's second phase will be presented to the City Council for approval in October 2022.

The City Council approved the Pavement Rehabilitation Program on February 1, 2022. The program allocates a historic $50 million toward fully repaving and rehabilitating nearly 190 miles of road throughout Moreno Valley. The entire Pavement Rehabilitation Program will condense ten years of work into only 18 months.

The Pavement Rehabilitation Program is the largest Public Works project in Moreno Valley's history.

Funding for this historic allocation comes from General Fund savings made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) fund, which offset the City's Public Safety costs.
