San Bernardino to Launch Weekly Downtown Farmers Market October 17
The City of San Bernardino has announced the launch of a weekly certified farmers market beginning Tuesday, October 17 from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Court Street Square, located at 349 North E. Street.
“Bringing locally grown fruits and vegetables to our residents and employees every Tuesday is an exciting addition to Downtown San Bernardino,” said Parks and Recreation Director Lydie Gutfeld, whose department is organizing the market.
Over 20 different vendors will be on hand selling fresh, locally sourced produce, as well as hot prepared food. As a certified farmers market, the produce sold will come straight from the farm and sold by the farmer or their staff personally.
With many large employers in close proximity to the market, including Cal Trans, the County of San Bernardino, the County courthouse, and the City of San Bernardino, Gutfeld is expecting nearby employees to become regulars.
“This will be a great option for the people that work Downtown,” she added. “People will be able walk over and grab something delicious for lunch or stock up on healthy foods for home,”
The Downtown San Bernardino Farmers Market will be an ongoing event, taking place every Tuesday.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
