San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) students will be off on Spring Break for two weeks starting March 21 and returning to class on Monday, April 4, 2022.
Middle College High School and Inland Career Education Center (ICEC) students have a single week of Spring Break from Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25.
“While we know that Spring Break is a fun time for many students and families as they enjoy a well-earned vacation, we know that for other families it can be a stressful time because without school, students may not know where their next meal is coming from and families may struggle to find daycare,” said Dr. Sandra Rodriguez, assistant superintendent of Student Services.
SBCUSD is offering Grab ‘n’ Go Meals on Monday, March 21 at eight distribution sites to help make sure students continue to have nutritious meals during Spring Break. All children up to age 18 can pick up 10 days worth of breakfast and lunch between 9 and 11 a.m. at the following locations: Arroyo Valley High, Cajon High, Del Vallejo Middle School, Indian Springs High, Muscoy Elementary, Richardson PREP HI, San Bernardino High, and San Gorgonio High.
CAPS Expanded Learning, SBCUSD’s after-school program, is offering CAPS Splash into Spring Break. The intersession program offers academic enrichment and physical activity opportunities to elementary and middle school students from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday during Spring Break. The program is offered at 19 school sites.
“We’re proud to be able to offer this opportunity to students who may need extra support or just a safe place to stay during the day,” said CAPS Director Ann Pearson.
SBCUSD is providing every student in kindergarten through 12th grade with an at-home COVID test this week. Families are encouraged to test students for COVID before returning to school after the break to help reduce the spread of COVID in our schools.
