SCAG appoints Cindy Giraldo as Chief Financial Officer

Cindy Giraldo has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), joining the nation’s largest metropolitan planning organization after spending the past 10 years as Financial Services Director for the City of Burbank.

In her new role, Giraldo will work closely with SCAG’s Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and Regional Council to ensure fiscal resiliency in meeting the business needs and strategic goals of an agency that represents six counties, 191 cities and more than 19 million residents.

Her appointment followed an extensive search.

“The times we live in present unprecedented challenges for local and regional governments, and

we’re fortunate to have someone with Cindy’s talent and experience joining our extraordinary team,” said Kome Ajise, Executive Director of SCAG. “Cindy’s strong background in finance, along with her understanding of how transportation, housing and environmental challenges impact our daily lives, make her an ideal fit as SCAG addresses the challenges and opportunities within one of the most vital economic and population centers in the world.”

Before serving as Finance Director in Burbank, Giraldo spent 14 years at Ticketmaster in a variety of roles, including Vice President of Finance, Controller and Corporate Financial Analyst. Her tenure there included two years in South America, opening Ticketmaster offices in opening Ticketmaster offices in Argentina and Chile.

Giraldo began her new role on November 16.
