Affectionately dubbed "the Seahorse Whisperer" by locals, Hanson's six-year odyssey into the behaviors of the Hippocampus ingens has yielded both insight and innovation. Armed with little more than patience, determination, and an unyielding passion for marine life, Hanson inspired by his mentor Neal Garrick-Maidment, Director of the the Seahorse Trust, embarked on a journey to decode the mysteries of these delicate creatures.

As the eel grass would ebb and flow with the changing tides, so too would the seahorses, proving more elusive during times when the grass would die off.
