In the heart of Grand Terrace, where community and education go hand in hand, a long-lost tradition has been beautifully restored thanks to the dedication and vision of two extraordinary school leaders—Principal Sebastian Puraci and Vice Principal Neera Kohli. Their unwavering commitment to the students and staff of Grand Terrace Elementary School has not only transformed the school’s environment but has also reignited a sense of pride and tradition that had been silent for years.

For decades, the school bell—a once-cherished symbol of unity and learning—had remained broken, its chime replaced by modern digital alarms. The absence of its sound left a void in the hearts of many, a quiet reminder of a time when students eagerly awaited its ring to mark the end of the day. Recognizing the sentimental and historical value of the bell, Principal Puraci envisioned a way to bring it back to life.

With the support of his dedicated staff, students, and the invaluable assistance of Vice Principal Kohli, plans were set in motion. Within weeks, through collaborative efforts and sheer determination, the bell was repaired and reinstated. The city of Grand Terrace rejoiced at the news, as the iconic sound rang through the school grounds once more—a sound that hadn’t been heard in years.

But this restoration was more than just a repair; it was the beginning of a new tradition. Now, students eagerly gather each day, taking turns to ring the bell, marking the end of their school day with joy and excitement. It has become a moment they look forward to, a symbol of pride, hope, and the unwavering spirit of the Grand Terrace Eagles, who soar above all else.

Principal Puraci and Vice Principal Kohli’s leadership goes far beyond the bell. They have taken steps, big and small, to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Their tireless efforts in fostering a nurturing and thriving educational environment have not gone unnoticed. From academic advancements to fostering a culture of respect and kindness, their work continues to make Grand Terrace Elementary not just a school, but a home for learning and community.

The ringing of the bell now stands as a testament to their dedication—an echo of their commitment to the students, staff, and families of Grand Terrace. Thanks to their vision, what was once a silent relic is now a resounding beacon of hope and progress.

So, the next time you hear the bell ring at Grand Terrace Elementary, know that it’s more than just a signal to go home—it’s a reminder that with the right leadership, heart, and dedication, traditions can be revived, communities can come together, and the future can be just as bright as the sound that fills the air.

Thank you, Principal Sebastian Puraci and Vice Principal Neera Kohli, for your unwavering commitment to making Grand Terrace Elementary a place where students truly soar.
