Look, Talk, Listen, This Summers events at The Crossings in Colton have been a great success for South Colton! With the first season ending in a Mexican Independence Day / Fiestas Patricas Celebration to continue into Hispanic Heritage Month until October 15th.

The South Colton Diversity Committee has increased its momentum in reaching the City of Colton’s adopted South Colton Livable Corridor Plan (Resolution NO. R-61-19) by establishing a community event center while beautifying the area. O Street is now showing glimpses of the past along with preparing for the future.

Valdez Development along with The Southern California Association of Governments, AIM Colton, 3 Iron Beer, Sombrero Market, The Art of War (non-profit) and other local sponsors have dedicated themselves to preserving South Colton’s rich heritage by way of grants, investors and local business participation. “Being able to bridge the gap between local government and privately owned businesses & Non-profits has brought The South Colton Livable Corridor’s O Street from worst to first when it comes to community networking along with attracting new businesses to the area” says Eugene Valdez owner of Valdez Development.

Although The South Colton Livable Corridor Plan which currently consists of K Street to the north to Congress Street on the south and 6th Street on the west to 9th Street on the east does not have any City Council Members living in its boundaries the area has made huge improvements over the last year. The local business community attributes and thanks the City of Colton’s willingness to ad inclusion and proper representation into the Latino Urbanization of the area.

A series of holiday events will follow the summer’s festivities starting with a first of its kind Colton High School Reunion that will exclusively utilize Colton owned suppliers and feature the city’s rapidly growing diverse entertainment options.
