Well respected and loved, Jack Hill, the first African American president of the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, died on this past Thursday from complications of a heart attack. He was 92 years of age. Hill was a longtime San Bernardino leader and a well-established caterer. Jimmy Hill, Jack’s son, was quoted as saying, “All I can say for me and my siblings is that we were very fortunate to have him as a father; he taught us about having values and character plus he supported us in whatever life direction we felt would benefit us in the long term.”
Judi Penman , Chamber of Commerce president, said, “Jack believed in bringing people together and he was one of the most gentle and kindest men I’ve ever known. He was a great leader and quite unselfish.” Jimmy Hill said that the services for his father would probably be held the first week of December.
