The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will be launching the 2014 ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge with a special pet promotion that will run all day on Sunday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The purpose of this shelter pet promotion event is to help homeless companion animals find life-long loving homes. Special discounted adoption rates apply during this daylong event. Dogs and puppies will be available for $50, and cats and kittens will be available for $25. These adoption prices include spay or neuter surgery, 5-in-1 or 3-in-1, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, along with a HomeAgain microchip. The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter was selected to join 49 other Animal Shelters nationwide to participate in the 2014 ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge competing to save more lives from June 1 through August 31. The $100K Challenge is a contest in which 50 shelters across the country will compete to break their own records at saving animals' lives. Throughout the months of June, July and August 2014, each competing shelter must save more dogs and cats than they did during the same three months in 2013. This year, the 50 shelters will work to save even more lives, with winners earning $600,000 in prize grants, including a $100,000 grand prize for the shelter that increases the most saved lives. Grant funds awarded to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter would be used to further promote pet adoptions and provide additional Spay and Neuter services in the community. In response to the ASPCA Rachel Ray $100k Challenge, the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is holding several more events during the Challenge period as well as launching a video PSA campaign to promote the event. For more information about this pet adoption promotion, contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit the City's website at www.moval.org and click on "Animal Shelter."
