Aegis Builders Inc. and local independent real estate broker Jeffrey McConnell recently gathered at Preston Street to officially break ground on the first of many projects together. According to McConnell, they are still currently looking for other projects in Grand Terrace. This first project, which is currently in the works, consists of 12 townhouses on Preston Street in Grand Terrace, right by City Hall. A few weeks prior to the groundbreaking, Aegis Builders Inc. celebrated the grand opening of their brand new Grand Terrace office, located on Barton Road. Darryl Moore, Vice President of Aegis Builders Inc. and long-time Grand Terrace resident, partnered with McConnell so they can work to bring new housing to Grand Terrace for many years to come. Due to the rainy weather in the month of December, Moore mentioned they had to put a hold on the construction site. However, they started right back up again as soon as there were clear skies. “As of right now, it could be completely finished sometime in March,” McConnell said. Grand Terrace Mayor Darcy McNaboe, Mayor Pro Tem Sylvia Robles, Councilmember Doug Wilson, Provident Bank’s Senior Loan Officer Kathy York, representative John Gaede from Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown's office, representative John Futch from County Supervisor James Ramos' office, as well as Moore and McConnell were all present for the official groundbreaking of the project. “I look forward to assisting home buyers in this new community at Vista Terrace located in Grand Terrace,” Kathy York, Senior Loan Officer Kathy York commented. “Grand Terrace is the perfect small community for buyers wishing to purchase their first with the help of CalHFA, which offers low to zero down payment options for buyers who have not owned a home in the past three years, or current homeowners wishing to down size.”
