On Sunday, June 1, 2025, the community gathered at American Legion Post 155 in Colton for a truly remarkable event—the Relay for Life Colton/Grand Terrace. From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, over 400 attendees came together to support cancer survivors and caregivers in a meaningful and touching celebration of hope and resilience.

The event was marked by a special guest speaker, Melissa Perez, who bravely shared her journey in battling cancer. Melissa's heartfelt words resonated with everyone present as she discussed the profound impact that cancer has had on her life. She inspired the audience with her determination to face her diagnosis and to embrace each day with courage.

Throughout the day, moments of silence were observed for those we have lost to cancer, honoring their memories and reflecting on the challenges faced by their loved ones. Family members, friends, colleagues, and community members all came together in solidarity, united in their hope to fight cancer and support one another.

Attendees were treated to delicious food and beverages, also the brunch was catered by an adorably decorated mimosa station. That was a complete hit for all of the people in attendance creating an inviting atmosphere for survivors, who were honored and celebrated with beautiful flowers. The atmosphere was filled with love and support as prayers and thoughts were shared among the crowd, embodying the spirit of unity and compassion.

Adding to the memorable experience, a beautiful song was performed for the community, further emphasizing the significance of the occasion. The event was not only a tribute to those affected by cancer but also a reminder of the strength found in community.

Relay for Life Colton/Grand Terrace survivors brunch was not only a great success but also one of the most memorable gatherings for the American Cancer Society. It served as an inspiring reminder that while this event may have concluded, it is certainly not the last. The fight against cancer continues, fueled by the unwavering spirit of this incredible community, dedicated to supporting and uplifting one another in the journey ahead. Cheers to the events and support to come .
