GRAND TERRACE>>Stater Bros. Markets recently sought to recognize Stater Brothers “Family” members who reached milestone years in their careers. During an event that took place in late April, over 400 employees were recognized for their tireless work and dedication through the “Family” Service Awards Program. “We are proudly celebrating 81 years of serving our ‘valued’ customers and this is because of the hard work and dedication of our loyal ‘Family’ members,” said Pete Van Helden, President and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets.

Honorees included those who had eached 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 or 45 years of service in 2017. Selected individuals  were invited to an Awards Banquet held at the Riverside Convention Center, where those attending were recognized and presented with a Service Award pin. Among the 45-year honorees was Robert Martinez, clerk at the Stater Bros. Grand Terrace location.

Other nominees included Gilbert Ceballos, truck driver in the distribution center, Kurt Heckroth, store manager at the River Road store in Norco, and Wayne Mackinnon, store Manager at the La Mirada store.

“I am proud that so many employees have chosen to make Stater Bros. their career,” said Helden. “It has been said that you judge a person by the company they keep, and a company by the people they keep.  In my 40 years in the grocery industry, I’ve never seen such a loyal team - dedicated to the mission of serving their Company, customers and community – like our Stater Bros. ‘Family’”.

The “Family” Service Awards Program was established in 1987, and “Family” members reaching 5, 10 and 15 years of service are recognized with a beautiful gold pin that signifies their years of service.

Stater Bros. was founded in 1936 in Yucaipa, California, and has grown steadily through the years to become the largest privately owned Supermarket Chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino County and Riverside County.  The Company currently operates 169 Supermarkets, and there are approximately 18,000 members of the Stater Bros. Supermarket Family.  For more information, visit staterbros.com.
