This week’s winner is Arthur Bernal from Riverside who has won one of the weekly prizes: an incredible and fun gift basket from V&V Insurance Services! Although he didn’t win the $1,000 he is still eligible and still walks away with a great prize this week.

“It’s really nice of them [V&V Insurance Services], you know, god bless them for doing this, especially during the hard times,” Bernal said.

Now you have the chance to win too! Visit us online and search for the bag of money on our local business advertisements, click on each ad, enter your contact information and win! No purchase necessary. You may enter every day on every ad with the bag of money icon to increase your chances of winning. We will announce the winner for the month of April on May 1st.

This week’s winner is retired from working for 47 years as a pressman for the Press Enterprise. Bernal is also a retired Veteran of the Army, where he served for two years as a mail clerk.

“Started off in fort Ord, California, then went to Louisville, Kentucky for 10 weeks, then the rest of the 18 months in Washington in the 4th infantry division… I had a good job, I would always run, never walked,” Bernal said.

More and more businesses are now able to open their doors, allow their customers inside and once again thrive within their community. We are also starting to see an impact the COVID-19 vaccinations are having in our counties, now allowing us to come together as a community more and more.

Our local businesses want to continue the positive momentum and give back to the people in their community who support their business and support #shoplocal.

One of those businesses who are deciding to give back to their community is V&V Insurance Services.

V&V Insurance Services is a family-owned husband and wife business who has served residents in the Inland Empire for almost 20 years. V&V Insurance Services is owned and operated by Edgar and Laura Villafuerte who have recently moved their office to the City of Grand Terrace located on the first floor at the building of 22365 Barton Road.

“We focus more into the individual; we try to do the best thing for our clients, that’s our biggest thing,” Edgar said. “We’re going to do the best thing for you, and we are more of a mediator between them and the insurance company. We’re always focusing on their wellbeing.”

Edgar and Laura are Insurance Brokers who represent multiple companies. The way they work is by finding the best for their clients by not cutting corners on coverage.  Not only can V&V Insurance Services help you with home and auto insurance coverage, but they also specialize in:

·         Business Insurance

·         Flood Insurance

·         Earthquake Insurance

·         Boat Insurance

·         Motorcycle Insurance

·         Motorhome Insurance

·         Mexican Insurance

·         Travel Insurance

·         Medical Insurance

·         Medicare Health Plans

·         Life Insurance

·         Retirement Fund

Not only do Edgar and Laura at V&V Insurance Services make sure that you and your coverage are their number one priority, but they also make it an active goal to give back to their community.

“We want the community to know that we, again the way we work, at the heart of it, we want to give back and we need to support our local businesses,” Laura said.

Edgar and Laura are active community members, Laura being a part of the Girls Scout Troop 76 from Grand Terrace, as well as being a part of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) board at a local junior high where they needed extra help even though she doesn’t have a child attending and she used to be a part of the PTA Board at Terrace View Middle School where her daughter does attend.

Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, V&V Insurance Services would sponsor a lot of different community events, however, since then, their ability to do what they love, which is to connect and give back to the community was halted.

“We’ll sponsor fun events, we’ll sponsor painting classes, we’ll do crafts, we’ll do bingo, aside of talking to them about the Medicare and letting them know that there are a lot of options,” Laura mentioned while talking about their partnership with Vista Blue Mountain, the senior assisted living center in Grand Terrace.

“With COVID hitting, we can’t do any of that, so we haven’t had any contact with anyone as far as in regards to that stuff, it’s totally gone.” “It’s been over a year without that and so it’s impacted our business because that’s how we would generate; it’s at no cost but it would generate business because people would be appreciative and would get to know us and know how we work and that we’re ethical agents,” Laura said.

Despite the hard impact that COVID-19 has on V&V Insurance Services, they continue to stay positive and grateful.

“The last year most of the business that we have gotten has been because of referrals, people who have recommended us, and we’re very fortunate that way too. We’ve been in the insurance business about 20 years and in the Medicare business for about 12 years and all along were by referrals.”
