Woody’s Classic Grill opened on October 1, 2018, and has since been a local focal point and community center that has brought in families and friends from all over the Inland Empire with great food and good service.

Owner, Michael Miller, describes the themes of the restaurant as a “classic, American Dinner named after the woodies classic cars…We have a California, 1970’s, surfing theme in our restaurant.” (a woodie or woodie wagon, is a wood-bodied automobile that became popular in the 1960s)

“Woody’s came about from the demographics of Grand Terrace at the time. Woodies, the California surfing theme is what I grew up in the seventies, and there were quite a few people who lived in Grand Terrace that were my age and grew up in that time, too. So, I thought it would be appropriate to bring to Grand Terrace a themed restaurant that everybody could relate to,” said Miller when describing the inspiration behind the classic diner and surfing themes.

Miller spoke on his many years of experience with restaurants, “I have been in the food industry for almost 50 years, I’ve managed chained restaurants, I’ve managed mom and pop restaurants, and then about 25 years ago, I started owning restaurants.”

Miller continued to draw from his experiences in the food industry, “I always say in the restaurant business, people go to restaurants to escape and to be happy. As far as the ambiance goes, you want to walk into a place and go ‘Wow, this is really fun, and this is really cool.’ And of course, along with good quality food, good services, and especially at a good value.”

Woody’s is known to have specials for every occasion and calendar event, “On all major events like Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, we always have a special menu for those days,” said Miller.  “And our everyday specials are priced well for the community.”

“Every Wednesday night from 6-8, we bring in World-Class Magicians and they perform tableside magic,” said Miller enthusiastically. “I’ve dealt with magicians for years and I am still amazed at what they do and how they do it.”

When asked what Miller wishes to achieve through his business forum, he responded, “My philosophy is always to give back; especially when the community supports us, we have to support the community. So, we want to get involved in local schools, the homeless, and any charitable events that help the community of Grand Terrace, Colton, and Redlands, we get involved in.”

Miller expressed his gratitude for the success of the restaurant by thanking the communities and his staff, “I am really blessed that the cities of Grand Terrace, Colton, Redlands, and Riverside have all supported us, they are the ones that have made Woody’s successful. I have been really, really blessed to have the staff that I have as well, everybody talks about the friendliness of our crew, and they strive hard to take care of our guests.”
